Hi
Depends upon the company policy defined..here there are two options..
1. Yearly increments on the completion of seven months alongwith the others on the pro-rata basis.
2. Give increment on the completion of the one year of service and effect the general yearly increment.
Here first option is prefered for administrative purposes and the employees also feel happy and a part of the organization as well.

hi sampath
increment purely depends on your company policy. it does not have any rules that an employee who have not completed one year of service should not be given increment.
see and review the individuals performance. if the performance is in a very high note, then give increment. it will be the good motivation for an employee to continue his / her job.

No rule for the same.
Generally Mfg companies have the rule that if a person completes 6 months or more as on 31st mar, 07 (u can have december if u want) he will be eligible for increment which is paid wef the upcoming month of April. (in this case- Apr, 2007)
We used to pay Variable incentive based of the number of month he has worked in the earlier year. But u have 2 be careful for the ones who joined your company between the earlier revision cut off & current cut off date- as in that u pay for a min of 6 months or max of 18 months
PS - Isnt increment prospective & not retrospective???
