If an Organisation do not take interest in Professional Development, what are the disadvantage or significance which will be faced by both Management and Employees.

Dear Nancy,
Those who want to grow, they grow anyway and do not wait for their organisation to grow them. Work of such persons gets noticed and they are given some sops. Whether the organisation gives them sops or not, they quit such company (or companies) and join somewhere else. Their march onward continues.
Growth depends on the standards that person sets for himself or herself. Higher the standards higher the growth.
Positive change comes with observation also. This sense of observation is the basic requirement of self-learning. Those who have belief on self-learning they learn new skills, find out mentor on their own to hone their skills further and become expert. Such persons acquire Referent Power in the organisation and as they become reference person, management entrusts them more responsibility.
Those who expect others to grow them, they remain laggard. Take the case of this forum itself. Not necessarily all the members have belief on the quality of their posts. They disregard grammar, do not give any background information about their query and expect others to give them advice! Do you think that such people can grow even if their organisation grows them?
Thanks,

Dear Dinesh,
I agree with your points. What I'm thinking is, If management contribution is not in the development of employee , the employee wont fit his soul to the company .... He jumps to other company for his professional growth . This may create negative impact to both management and the employee ..... Layoff also one one of the negative impact of professional development. This is my view...

Growth is a factor that results from commitment, diligency, thinking laterally, being creative and at times making one owns rule(s). If an organisation is not growing, there is fundamentally something tangential in it's doing of things and of building professional relationships, and soon it will be applying for insolvency.
As an individual, if these elements are not visible in the organizational philosophy, being reflected in its mission statement, it's time to quit the organisation.
