Dear All, I have a question, if anybody answers this it would be very helpful. so my question is that should any company have the right to deduct salary direct from basic pay?
In our company (it is steel industry base) regular deduct salary (partly) from basic pay if an employee goes leave without pay. Last month this was happen on me. My basic pay is Rs 10200 and they deduct lump sum amount from here due to leave without pay. Detail was given below:

My Basic -10201
Hra- 4080
Medical- 1020

Gross salary=Rs.15301.

If I divided gross salary by 30 days then my daily wages is Rs 510. In the month of March 2021, I was gone 3 days for leave without pay. Now our company deducts Rs 1020 from Basic pay and Rs 408 from HRA Allowance and Rest Rs 102 from Medical Allowance. Total they deducted Rs 1530 for 3 days leave without pay. Is this deduct process is legal as per wages law? I need legal help so I can cross HRD Dept for this.

The pay worked out is proper as may be seen from the table below:

Monthly Pay Pay for one day Pay for 27 days Diff.
Basic Pay 10201 340.0333333 9180.9 1020.1
HRA 4080 136 3672 408
Medical All. 1020 34 918 102
Gross Pay 15301 510.0333333 13770.9 1530.1
The deduction is made proportionately, HRA is 40% of the Basic Pay and Med. Allowance is 10%.
It is maintained.
