Hi ,

My manager was not willing to reduce my notice period so I lied to him that I am going for masters he asked to give me documents. I gave the admission offer letter of my friend. I edited the name and sent to the manager he has send to HR to verification. How will HR verify this does he mails to the university admission director to get it verified?

Sorry to be blunt, but good luck trying to get yourself out of this mess. You forged a document, and lied. I doubt any other member here will have a solution to that problem.

Actions have consequences. NEVER do anything without thinking about the future consequences of that action first. It is going to take a lot of time and effort for you to regain trust and get your career back on track after this.

This is okay ... your manager cannot do anything on this. speak to him , negotiate and get your notice period shortened.

Forgive me for asking, but are you condoning people being dishonest in their dealing with their employers?

Dishonesty will always be found out eventuallyand can have far reaching consequences for a person's future career. Many people, even in the highest CEO positions have found out to their detriment that, for example, lying on their CV is a sackable offence.
