I worked for 16 months in an organization and left that in March 2006. Till now i am trying to get my PF Number from them but they are not providing me the same.
The reason being that i left the job after giving them a short notice of a week, which should have been one month. But i have not got one month's salary, relieving certificate and Experience letter in lieu of that.
They are not ready to talk in this regard. Where as they had a clause that either give one months notice or pay one months salary. How do i get my PF number ? Is there any way to find it out ? I have all details related to that organization.
Please advice me what to do.

Hi all.
I was earlier thinking of putting up a case in the labour court but i stops myself becase of my unavailability of time to attend the hearings of this case.
Is there any other possible / effective alternative.

Hi Mangal, If you have the salary slip from your previous company, you can check it there. Normally, every salary slip has it except for the initial couple of months. Rajeev

Hi Mangal,
I would have advised you better if you have got your PF no., anyways you have got salary credited by the company. Send in a notice either thru' a lawyer or by self in RPAD to provide the PF no. for the PF deducted to you, in case if you still doesnt get the PF no. send a reminder notice and specify, I really doubt your inability to provide PF no. shows, my contributions are not remitted with the PF account and its a gross violation of rules put forth in the The EPF Act, 1952.
In case the employer provided you the PF no., but not processing your PF form, you can forward it directly to the PF commissioner, the commissioner may forward such application to the employer and the employer shall be required to return it within 5 days of receipt as per [para 72(5)(d) of the EPF scheme].
Hope i have clarified your doubt.

Hi Rajeev,
No PF number in any of the 16 salary slips i received from that company.
But they have given me a PF number of Delhi Region where that account is showing some 250 rupees in a yearly slip which we get.
Later the PF transfer took place and it got transfered to UP, i did'nt got that PF number and the majority of fund is in this account.

Dear Mangal,
RPAD stands for Registered Post Acknowledgment Due and that's all. To know your PF details meet the concerned EPF Enforcement Officer of your locality or login to the site of your Regional Provident Fund Organisation. I presume that though your contribution towards EPF has been deducted from your salary, nothing has been remitted by your employer, nor your Declaration and Nomination forms submitted to EPFO. Better meet the concerned PF Inspector( Enforcement Officer) directly.

Dear friend,
Leaving the organization without completing the work (Notice Period) is not ethical. But it doesn't stop you from getting PF number. You can get the number from concerned PF office
