There is no option available to the insured employee directly get treated in a private hospitals on their choice. However reimbursement may be possible only if & when ESI hospitals refers them for specialised treatment in private hospitals on their panel for the purposes where such treatment is not available in ESI hospitals. This is a pre-condition to seek reimbursement.
