Sir,
In case a job contract on fabrication and erection is awarded to one vendor/contractor and contractor obtains labour license as it likely to employ more than 20 workmen. Further if the contractor sub contracts the job to 2 sub contractors and each employs 10 labours each then what will be about the requirement of labour license to those 2 sub contractor? Is it to be ensured though the sub contractors engages labour less than 20??

hi
The contract labour act 1970 says that 20 or more should produce labour license.
contractor should have license if he takes sub contract of 10 each also it is under a contract the hole comes to 20 the the main contractor has to show the license.not the sub contractor.
if a contract given to a contractor then it is in turn give to other contractor by the main contractor it is called sub contract . so the contractor is necessary and he should have license and all other license like PF, ESI and service tax no...
