I actually do appreciate your concern when have specifically asked user for feedback and not vendors..
I am freelance consultant as well as user too;
Firstly irrespective of Industry payroll and attendance logic remains the same. what you are going to configure as per terminology used in your organisation.
Since you are currently a very small organisation you can initially go for basic system which is scalable and handle your future needs when your employee or organisation grows. Look for following things:-
1) Is the software capable of handling all the Indian rules with minimal customisation
2) Is the software scalable.
3) Is the attendance moudule able to integrate the data i.e. if you have a physical card access the data from the card machine should be easily able to migrate to the application
Also future needs to add-on module i.e. scalable for complete HRMS solution if required. This will ensure that you don't have to migrate the complete software or hardware to another box.
