Consolidated stipend only has to paid and it depends on the qualification and the requirement of the Company. You have to mention him only as Trainee - may be Executive Trainee, Mgt Trainee etc., with the dept in which he is going to be trained.

First of all, I would like to make it clear to you that a "trainee" is not a "workman" and is not paid "salary" or "wages", but only "stipend", which, in any case should not be less than that of a semi-skilled category.
Secondly, no designation should be conferred to any trainees. They are just "trainees". The moment, you designate them, they are likely to be treated as your "employees" and will be entitled to all benefits which are available to your other employees.

The emoluments given to trainee, should not be termed as "salaries". Instead , it be termed as
"Training Allowance". Also the offer letter given to trainee should be referred as Trainee Engagement letter. If he is a technical trainee, having some engineering background, designate as "Electrical Engineer Trainee" (for example) or Trainee Electrical Engineer.

Hello there,
If you are looking to enroll trainees in your company, You can enroll them under apprenticeship act 1961. This method is good for both the trainees and employers as both of them get good benefits out of it.
