For those who are not aware of SIX SIGMA;
Six Sigma is a business management strategy originally developed in MOTOROLA by BILL SMITH
(but the principles behind the methodology date back to AD. 1800s. CARL GAUSS, a German mathematician, published "Theoria Motus Corporum Arithmeticae." In this book, GAUSS introduced the concept of the bell curve, a shape that can often represent the variation that occurs in a controlled process).
Now it is a widespread application in many sectors. It improves the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects.
It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts","Green Belts", etc. same like the grading system in Karate) who are experts in these methods.
