There is a unauthenticated report that the Indian National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" has been chosen as the World's Best National Anthem by UNESCO.
I tried an online search to check if this information is authenticated after I received an email with this information and came across the link mentioned below.

Mike is the only person who's correct in this whole discussion cuz this information is fake. It is as fake as that 2-moon thing on 27th August circulating a little while ago. :icon7:First of all, UNESCO would not issue a contest for anthems cuz it is such a sensitive issue. Secondly, it's an organization meant for better things than select the best anthem. Thirdly, in today's world where everything (even a "name the 7 wonders of Delhi" contest) is such a huge news in TV & radio channels, do you think such a contest could've remained concealed till Indian National Anthem was chosen as the best! It's high time we verify a report before discussing it and feeling proud of the same!:-x

The author of National Anthem is Rabindranath Tagore is taken from his book Gitanjali.
National Song - Vande Mataram ..Bankim Chand Chatterjee ..Its written in Sanskrit its vey tough.
And yes i can sing anthem without any help..but national song not completely.
But there are many Indians who cant sing anthem..and they dont respect it..
I think national anthem is all about history and culture of the nation and everybody has to pay respect to it. Thats it.

I too received this e mail. For every citizen his/her national anthem is the best in the world. announcements like this makes only emotional sense and nothing professional.
I hope let us be professional and radical in approach and be devoid such political demeanours.
