I have recently joined as HR assistant. Please any one help me, as a hr, what & how many registers should follow in the office in Bangalore (Karnataka) because here we are maintaining eight records like
1. Register of Contractor.
2. Mustor Roll.
3. Register of Wages.
4. Register of Deduction for Damage and Loss.
5. Register of Fines.
6. Register of Advance.
7. Register of Overtime and
8. Combined Muster Roll Cum Register of Wages.
Whether i would like to know these all registers is mandatory or not in Bangalore

There r 40 odd Central Acts related to Labour besides local laws. Every Act prescribes one or the other Register depending upon the nature of the activity carried out by the Estt. Besides local Authorities prescribes many registers according to their own wisdom and convenience for inspection & verification.
The details thus difficult to be mentioned. What ever mentioned in other replies are the least and important.
