Dear All,
I am working in advertising company. we have staff of 18 employees. We don't have any deduction except Professional tax of 200 RS.
IS ESIC rule is applicable to our company? (is it for 10 or more employees are working)
As per my knowledge for PF - 20 OR more employees required is there any specific criteria of Industries for both PF & ESIC? any how many employees are required to be working for both rule? and if yes then what will be the procedure?
I am little confused...
Hope you will help me....

1. Dear member, in most of the States, the State Governments have reduced the criteria/threshold of coverage in ESI Act, 1948 under section 1(5) in respect of shops (selected commercial establishments) to employment of 10 or more persons on any day. However, in respect of Maharashtra State I am not sure about the exact position.
2. However, since your establishment is employing 18 persons, hence it will be more appropriate if you may contact nearest office of ESIC and get the records of your establishment verified, if considered appropriate, in order to ascertain coverage position under said Act.
