I have given an interview at a place today they asked me what is the date of bonus calculation I said from January to December (calendar year) but they are saying that bonus is calculated for financial year please clear me in short form.

Bonus is calculated on the basis of a balance sheet. Therefore, the financial year of the organisation will decide the bonus period. It is normally April- March. You can pay it within eight months of the close of the financial year.
