Dear Colleague,
Work and Life Balance is a very important aspect for all working men. It is a tough decision when some family crisis happens and leave is denied. But in your case, it is presumed that 3 months' time is given as leave by the organization for which one should be thankful. Kindly look for different options:

1. Whether the medical treatment can be taken in the place where you work. So that you can manage both and give best possible treatment to your mother without losing job

2. Whether you can go admit your mother and take help of your family members and those close to you to take care and visit your mother on weekly basis post the treatment

3. Whether to on 3 months leave initially and manage / set everything required for your mother and if needed seek further time to work from home

Overall the organization seems to be reasonable in this case and hence you may balance by open discussion with HR and take their support also. These types of challenges will keep coming and you can not resign every time but you need to develop the art of managing both.

We pray for your mother for speedy recovery and God Bless....
