The classifications of firms into - micro, small, medium & large scale units mostly based on their size of inventory in P & M, Gross assets & Net Assets apart from Turnover over the years. Remaining at Micro & Small scale firms helps such firms to be eligible for trade related benefits such as, priority to loans from banks (working capital & term loans), concessional rate of interest, waiver of certain compliance procedure, shorter collection of trade dues, entitlement to over due interest on dues by purchasers pending beyond certain cutoff periods involved in credit sales etc. Yes you graduate to the next levels there is danger of losing these benefits one after another. While micro & small scale firms stand benefited compared to their contemporaries in the next level it may not be necessary to check your growth opportunities/promises to achieve better in your endeavours. We come across many mergers, amalgamations, take overs etc which happens only aimed at better growth & expand.
