Applicability of Gratuity act to educational institutes with special reference to teachers, plz. let us know whether gratuity is applicable to teachers or not

Payment of gratuity Act is applicable to private educational instutions also and especially to teachers after amendment in 2009 to modify definition of employee under it to lay " manual or otherwise". It has been so interpreted by Bombay HC in 2011.
