Good morning to all HR experts,

i would like to have discussion and guidance in the common problem or senario which most of the employer and employees are facing today.

The employees prefer to change the job within 6 months or may be lesser than that amount. I have seen the reason for such change is more commonly due to better salary, taking new challenges and problems at work places.

as the present employer has a limitation in giving hike and profile to their existing employee, the employee prefer new job who gives a good hike and good profile.

In such senario, the new employer always thinks negative towards such candidates. however, we all will appriciate that we spend most of our life time and money in obtaining qualifications with a view to secure a good job, better career and financial security. we also face some pressure from the family to settle early in life. therefore, the employee prefer to change the jobs.

however, personal reasons of the cadidate is never considered by the new employer.

I would like ask the experts their opinion

1. whether such frequent job change spoils resume/ career.
2. you might come across such candidates, do you prefer to trust such candidate.
3. How such candidate can win the confidence of new employer.

Regards to all members.

Dear Sim27,

I to totally support and agree with your each and every lines in the above post.

Frequent chane of job leads to negative image ob employee and his/resume both
It shows the unstability / less dedication towards work and learning of the employee
Any employer will hesitate to appoint such an employee in thier organisation, because as soon as he will get trained - he will be offered good pay by other employers and he may jump off - thus leading employer into loss.

But the employer also have some responsibilities to retain employees.

In today's senario the pattern of CTC has come into picture which leads to distruption in communication of employer and employee as very less employees know the meaning of CTC and more often employees assume CTC as gross and then after a month are unhappy while taking the less cash in hand, which indirectly leads to search of a job.

Onemore reoson of change is job profile which differs pre and post joining, the employers give a good job profile pre joining but wnhen once the employee has joined the job profile goes down is being given somne other work, its hard on the employee side to take it up as a part of learning or experienc e because it may cause competency of the employee (for eg if an employee is working as admin execuitve and joins a new employer for same position with higher pay but is faced with only reception job) in this case the employee may employee will learn new things but will loose the competency of admin work.

Employer should retain old employees and should not replace them with fresher with high salaries - this is also tuly demotivating.

Hence the employer and employee both should understand each other and work together for a common goal with full dedication and competency hence leading to growth of the organisation
