Dear Friends,

I am into Training and development.Ours is a small organization with around 250 employees split up through out India (Chennai, bangalore,Pune,Delhi).Till date we conduct an induction programme where in we just run a presentation abt the company and do the other personnel formalities.Management now has decided that induction should be atleast a two day programme ,Where all the new joinees from different part of the country should be called to the corporate office for induction.

I have planned out the programme with the basic inputs abt company and other standard information which will involve all dept. heads/representatives,inaddition,I have alloted slots for Guest lecture(sales/Technical/customer relationship) ,personality development/team building games .We would have atleast 10 -20 new joinees every month.

Please help me out with suggestions to make this program a more interesting and an interactive one and cost effective too.I would appreciate If you can help me out with some freelance trainers contact details from Chennai who can handle such sessions.

Looking forward for your suggestions,

Thanks & regards

Induction programme is important as that is the first point of meeting between the new joinee and the organisation and I fully agree with your management views.

Now think for a while on points I suggest and you will have your solution.

1st Day
Get all together. allow them to interact among them and then ask each to introduce other say next to him on left. This would be very interesting making the group comfortable. Then ask each one to confirm as to what has been said about him. This exercise can take the first half if you have 10-15 persons.

In second half introduce the present company profile and the goals set for the future.
At the end of the day divide them into groups and give the groups different aspects of the organisation ask them to discuss the matters and come up with their view of the organisation as a whole to-morrow.
Day 2
Session 1. Start the day with guest lectures. each such lecture should not be more than 10 minutes. Ask the new people to ask questions. Since they have read about the organisation night before you would find the session very interesting.

Session 2. Now go for the GD on information given yesterday. Frame some good general question on issues faced by the company and listen carefully the solutions suggested and pass on to management.

Session 3. Call some of your big shots to speak. Tell them to explain clearly the expectations of the organisations from the new joinees.
Session 4. Ask each of the new joinees to come up with an action plan for next 6 months. Do not frighten them. Have a good tea nasta and let go the heros to their respective work stations.
