Dear Uma Devi,

There is no separate formula to motivate employees who are from automobile industry and who are 50 or above.

Those who are above 50, they fall in various categories. Their needs are also different. Many of them will have children studying in colleges or pursuing some professional courses. Many could be worrying about their daughter's marriage. Nevertheless, their career ambition whittles down by that time. Many just go with the flow till the raft of their career attain shore of retirement.

You have asked query on motivation for such senior category employees but then why did you feel that they are not motivated? At that age, they suppose to motivate juniors. Why things came to such a pass where battery charger itself needed separate charging?

Do these professionals handle activities that commensurate with their age? Are these persons oversized or overgrown workers?

Your post is too short to comment. Please give details of your query. One cause of less motivation could be requirement to work under younger managers. But then that is their fait accompli and cannot be redeemed as such. Another reason could be lack of sense of fulfilment.

Myth about Training: - HR or Training Managers' job is easy. By organising training programmes, they bring horses called employees to the water and expect the trainer to make these horses to drink the water. Nevertheless, these are old horses. Perhaps they could pretend that they have drunk the nectar of training keeping their attitude in tact!

Thanks,
