Step 1: Ask if the person is right handed.
If yes:
Step 2: Ask him the normal interview question.
Step 3: When he answers the question look at his eyes.
Step 4: As he begins to answer the question or in between, if his eye moves to top right or to middle right then in all probability he is lying.
When this method will work:
If the answers are more than one word or sentence. Results are best if the answer is in the form of a description. Any time the above mentioned eye movements are observed, the interviewer can understand that the person is "creating" something.
When this method may not work:
1. If a person displays the above mentioned eye movements in almost all answers.. in this case this shows that this person is most probably a creative person who has artistic ability to visualize.
2. If the person is left handed. In this case... in the above mentioned steps, substitute 'left' for 'right'.
3. If the person is asked standard question like 'tell me about yourself' or 'where do you see yourself in five years?' he/she will reply with answers that he/she has already learnt by heart. But with a bit of skill, the questions can be designed to cross-check thus putting him/her in a position to give new replies.
General Instruction:
1. Left or Right is from the point of view of the person being interviewed.
2. See to it that no visually distracting elements are present in the interviewing room.
This method is based on the principles of NLP and requires a lot of practice before mastery.
