There have been a lot of complaints regarding the Humor section in this community and I would like to take a vote for the discontinuation of the Humor section. About 50 odd members regularly post jokes and shayris in that section and that section is pretty much used like a chat board.
So the question is: Should we discontinue the Humor section from CiteHR and move it to another domain?

Hi,

I dont know how i skipped this discussion but yes thanks for Mr Simhan to bring this to me today (by https://www.citehr.com/437198-citehr...ml#post1979390 ) what i actually wanted to discuss or discussing with Mr Sid and other moderators since a long time.

I, yes, have objected on many posting such as poems, shayries, jokes by members on this professional place because I really care about my this place and love alot. I know what this place has given to me and values to me and to my noble profession that i am belongs to. Therefore, I deserve the every right to object the things that can impact negative, bothering me and other or against the seriousness of professionalism or would say distracting me.

I have discuss the same at length with Mr Sid and other Moderators earlier too and again would like to share myself on the same as I got another chance to do so by this thread specially.

First, let me bringing something into your notice my dear all mates here that is really important here before saying further on the same I believe.

There is something given us by the Administrator right at the top of the page "Browsing Knowledge Base |Why Engage Here? | Testimonials" which actually gives us whole picture and motive of what and why we are here and needs to be. And we are connected to each other with the purpose that actually matters here because of it.

Every single person/member on this place came here with a purpose that no one can deny of that too. I came here with a purpose and started communicating. I found many things to learn and started learning, I got a chance to sharing myself, my experience and knowledge with you all and started doing and doing. And im sure you all other also came with your own and the same purpose.

And I bet there is no one who came with only a purpose to create or have fun on CiteHR. Therefore, if one who came to this place with purpose to learn, share, to seek something related to career/profession, knowledge, and professional development, how can one indulging him/herself into humor and get distracted. For this purpose we having Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Ibibo and other social/gaming and fun sites that we can use or are using, so one not supposed to mix our professional life with social life that i believe and want.

Which is my reason to OBJECT on posting Poem, Shayri, Jokes.

Second, many of you knows the meaning of logo of our page CiteHR that clearly says about career/professionalism, skills, knowledge, learning and seriousness and who are still not aware must go to https://www.citehr.com/424509-new-logo.html

So finally if we realize the purpose and motive of us and the value of this place that we love most, we not supposed to do anything that can go away from the right path.

We knows humor is also a very important thing and values in our life but we also knows that we are living our social/personal and professional life together but must maintain a balance. Motivational, Confidence Boosting and kind of post can be accepted but shayries, poems, jokes that are just for fun and nothing else must not be allowed on a PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE BASE PLACE- CITEHR

Hope i have made myself clear on this topic and again request you Mr Sid (CHR- Administrator) and other Moderators to put

I take a different stand from Anil. If the humours are mild and related to HR, nothing wrong if limited postings are here. Humour is also an essential ingradient to hang out. Even some serious movies may not hit box office if the humour part was missing. But humour section should not dominate this forum. Some beautiful PPTs (which I used to post some times) are essential to relax. Any way, I go with majority opinions.

Hi Pon,
You are right - but unfortunately the kind of posts that were made were not appropriate and resulted in hundreds of thousands of people feeling out of place.
Many were treating the forum as their personal chat window - alienating the others - you could have fun there but you had to belong to that group of people. That limited the number of people who felt comfortable in that section.
The new HumoR section will be fun for more people and will continue the tradition of the laughter and fun section.

Dear Mr. Roy
I am in favour of the HR Humour Forum. Sometimes we also need some relaxation as like in action movie, some humour part. We are always lives in tension and almost we forget to laugh on some days. We need the Humour section and further we can make some strict rules that the threads / posts being uploaded must be only in English. Further Transliteration is also can be banned. Original English only to be used and other vernacular languages typed in English also can be restricted.
Instead of removing the forum you can make it as Vernacular language usage will be removed / moderated.

One thing I would like to remind here again that we are talking about a professional knowledge base community not about social site like facebook/ Myspace.

“Sometimes we also need some relaxation as like in action movie, some humour part.” But my dear mates, we must not forget if one really need relaxation or break while posting or responding threads here can can use technology anytime that we are surrounded and play game at PC, use facebook and go to other gaming site, can go away for few minutes, can have chat with colleague/friends. Also, we almost everybody using complete internet facility in mobile that we are occupied all the time and help us in this by playing games on it but the excuse and reasons to circulate and have fun via posting jokes, humor on CiteHR I actually can’t buy personally.

I beg your pardon but i shared what i feel and what i actually want for my place that i love most and care for personally. I defined in my first response why we required to remove this humor section, (Not Motivational/Inspirational quote or material but jokes, poem, shayries)

Whenever I feel like I need a break or relaxation, take little rest pauses and have friendly conversation with my colleagues, use twitter, facebook, BBM and I believe that is enough

Rest Im also with majority opinions

Dears,

As said by Mr. Arora, Cite hr is for knowledge sharing...humor can be kept aside.

You can surf through the net for some sorts of humor if at all you are not interested to log into face book or other social sites.

You can get through humor anywhere and else where... but I'm onto an opinion that this cite is to be used for a specific and a different purpose..

It really sometimes irritates me when going through the threads which have their own circle and have their own chats... that too in different languages... Few people will know the local languages and few people will not... Not everybody knows everything and every language...

You are here on this site for a purpose and fulfill your purpose instead of thinking to have fun or time pass.. You've got so many seniors on this site who are here share their knowledge and help juniors to deal and sort out things... Let us respect them and make optimum utilization of the site.. instead of doing time pass...

Hi all
I too agree to have some humour and motivational stories as they also become part of a training session sometimes. In a class also, we, trainers got to share few motivational stories to encourage the team. Both plays the greatest part in human life. Without which the life is already so much tensed so why not keep this ALIVE here and share HEALTHY HUMOUR AND MOTIVATIONAL STORIES.
BE HAPPY!!!!! :-)

Hi All
This forum is for knowledge sharing and that is how it should be maintained. If one wants to change the flavor/mood they have the option of many sites.
HR Humor in this forum can be done away with.
Any ways we are a democracy and let the majority rule.

If anything is done in limits then it is always appreciated !!....As in this case , if the humor is clean and worth reading i find no reason for leaving it . But i do see a few jokes that are not meant to be funny. I guess a moderator could filter these rather than the whole idea of removing it .
