in last 3-4 years a new pattern of recruitment is observed in bangladesh, specially in private corporates. the rate of enrollment of retired military officers specially in hr sectors has incresed here drastically.
now a days most of the retired military officers are studying MBA and other bussiness related studies. with their this study record and the previous service experience made them a better choice by corporates. whereas the university graduates are found though better in exam performances but they are generally without experiences.
besides the company authorities are finding that these military persons plays a better role in accessing in govt machineries then that of fresh graduates. it is obviously a useful matter for the corporates. so the recruiting boards are preferring military officers more here. what is the state in india? does the military persons have good service records there after retirement?

Dear Sborhan,

I am an Army Officer myself, therefore what I say here may not be without prejudiced. Army Officers in India too are doing pretty well, in India however most Officers are taking up corporate jobs after taking premature release. Officers will do very well even without an MBA, the kind of experience they have will make them perform very well in the corporate sector and not only in HR but they are very good in Administration, they have excellant organizational abilities, they have also been quite successful in strategic planning as well.

With an MBA degree, which many officers are doing to ensure post retirement career, they will do very well in any stream.

This should not be taken as an encroachment on younger peoples prospects, they have their own domain. They have their own positive aspects in their personality and also they do bring in fresh thinking. I can assure all that if you do get an opportunity to work alongside an Army Officer, one would learn a lot from their experience.

All the best

Loveindra Chadha

Hi Sborhan,
I cent percent agree with what colonel has stated.
I have had many peers who had taken premature retirement from defence. They happen to be highly disciplined, good at man management, very effective in strategizing and planning. I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside them and you defenetly learn a lot from them.
Regards,
Krishnan
