Who is a business developer and how to take an interview with the business developer?

What would you do if one of your prospects was continually finding excuses to avoid you?
What would you do if you found out that one of your customers was testing out one of our competitor's products?
If you had to sell our product, what are two questions you would ask to understand the needs of potential buyers?
What do you think are the three most important factors when evaluating a deal?
Describe a situation in which you've had to improvise.
How do you measure success?
How do you turn a lead into a long-term relationship? How do you decide which leads are worth pursuing?
Pick something in this room and then sell me on it.
How do you sell unpopular ideas to people?
Tell me about a time you used analysis to make a business-critical decision. Walk me through that analysis and outcome.

Dear Manisha Thakur,
While the previous member has shown courtesy to upload a list of the questions that can be asked in the interview of "Business Developer", I prefer to ask a few fundamental questions.
What is the context of your query? Are you an HR professional and if yes, then will you conduct the interview for the post of the business developer? Has the Job Description been prepared for this position? If yes, then is it not sufficient to understand the role and functions of the business developer?
Who is eligible to conduct a job interview? Only an expert is eligible. Therefore, the situation merits self-assessment and one should ask a question, am I sufficiently competent to assess the suitability of a job candidate? While an ignorant interviewer can take a job interview, the cost of the wrong hire could be far higher because of the customer dissatisfaction or other operational issues.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar

If you do not know what a Business Developer is or what they do, how do you know your company needs one?
The alarm bells are ringing very loudly here. Go back to basics and rethink this whole thing. Do the research first, and then work out what needs to be done.
Agree with Dinesh, this is fraught with danger - to the company, and too yourself if it all goes wrong.
Do a search of this site to find the many posts I have made on the subject of recruitment.
