Upto my best knowledge & awareness there is no PF on Special Allowance so no question of Circular at all!!!!

Mr. J.S. Mallik, thanks for your opinion...please note that this is wrong interpretion. DEARNESS ALLOWANCE IS TERMED SPECIAL ALLOWANCE IN MAHARASHTRA and hence subject to PF deduction.

Dear Sir, Will you can provide the any govt. document regarding DA is termed as Special Allowance. As my PF inspection is going on. PF Inspector is also asking to deduct PF on Special allowance.

I thanks Malik ji for sharing the judgement but I support the view of Akarshan ji.
In my view, the judgement delivered by any High Court is not binding if you are not falling under its jurisdiction. Also, one has to read fully the judgement delivered and infer it to present circumstances whether it is applicable.
In Maharashtra, special allowance denotes Cost of living allowance i.e. dearness allowance and therefore PF attracts on the special allowance in Maharashtra.
