Team building activities in an organisation is a specialised activity and has to be handled by experts in this field. Generally these activities are handled by HRD experts.

Dear Colleague,
Team building responsibility cuts across all leadership roles right from first line supervisor to CEO. However, the knowledge and skill input has to be provided by an expert may be Head HR or an outside resource.
Teams have goals to achieve. The leader inspires them through binding them with disciplined coordinated efforts, unleashing motivation for achievement and leading by self-example. All these elements and such others go into team building activities .

Dear Venkatesh,
HR Professionals have their obsession with the team building activities. Nevertheless, let me reiterate here what I have written in the previous posts. How many HR professionals have done study as to which team building activities have increased the teamwork and because of the increased teamwork, whether productivity was increased and because of the increased productivity, whether revenue was increased.
HR professionals main job is to create a culture of teamwork. Conducting games is only a part of the efforts to build this culture but that is not all.
