Hi Guys,
Generally I won't participate in this kind of debates or discussions. Just to mediate between fighting groups, I thought of posting it here.
The History of Indian Languages
- The first ever Indian Language is Tamil
- The break away group of this Dravidian group is Telugu followed by Kannada
- Final break away is Malayalam
- The Telugu language is taken its birth around 10th century, but it didn't had any scripts.
- The kannada language taken its birth during 11 century with complete script. Telugu language adopted the script of Kannada in later stage. (likewise Malayalam adopted Tamil language for its script)
- Tamil is the oldest language in the earth.
- Telugu is appreciated for its phonetic beautifulness.
- Malayalam - Read it on reverse - the spelling is the same
- Hindi is a new language with mixture of Sanskrit & Urudu
In this thread, some one has mentioned that " who has given this bullshit information about the language". I don't know what was his / her intention. But the info mentioned in this opening thread about Kannada is true.
Check below links which I have posted about Bangalore and Chennai

I do agree with jagdabikris , prachi, nhanitur and everyone in this thread particularly veerbadra. Though i did not want to hurt anyone, i got a bit enervate with the lines that degrades hindi which is our national language. Taste a bit of ur bid jagdabikris , you said you would get angry when u see disturbing comments on ur language so will I if you do it to other languages. And again I did not use words like you and other fellow who wrote fool, bullshit etc. If the facts haunt you all, then listen to sumi71.

To control prasanna there are some set of rules for the two words to combine in kannada. The word sirigannadam is formed as follows siri+kannadam=sirigannadam, which is known as lOpa sandhi. The word lOpa meaning to lose and sandhi meaning to combine or koodu. Here the 'ka' varna is transformed into 'ga' varna. It is not like sirikkannadam which is hard to pronounce.
The comment you made that 'kannada is dialect of tamil' which is not true.Remember that tulu, kannada, tamil and malayalam are the offshoots of proto dravidian language. If you think that proto dravidian language is tamil then you are totally wrong.DO YOU KNOW THAT THE FIRST LANGUAGE TO SEPARATE FROM THE PROTO DRAVIDIAN LANGUAGE IS TULU.THE VERY NEXT LANGUAGE TO SEPARATE FROM THE PROTO DRAVIDIAN IS KANNADA.AFTER SOME MODIFICATION TAMIL IS EVOLVED.KANNADA AS SPOKEN LANGUAGE IS OLDER THAN TAMIL AND ALMOST EQUAL TO TULU.Please do not go through tamil ethnic site as they are misleading.Recent research tulu has its own script which more or less grantha script which gave birth to malayalam script.Tamil is older than kannada as written language and kannada language is older than tamil as spoken language. Please do not quarrel with each other.IF YOU DENY THE ABOVE FACT THEN ITS TRUE THAT "THAMILAR KOOPAMANDOOKANGAL"

Official versus national languages
"National language" and "official language" are best understood as two concepts or legal categories with ranges of meaning that may coincide, or may be intentionally separate. Obviously a stateless nation is not in the position to legislate an official language, but their language may be considered a national language.
Some languages may be recognized popularly as "national languages," while others may enjoy a high degree of official recognition.
Hindi and English in India are official language.

This is where the Indian constitution failed, as it has given enough rights to found many regional and gally parties and societies, we couldn't integrate Indians under one umbrella.
Someone may annoyed with my comments, how a post in citeHR could be reason for this, yes, It has the impact.
To gain the personal satisfactions, selfish politicians rises such regional and language issues inorder to gain in elections. Which will impact on the central govt uncertainty.
People, do remember that every region/religion and language in india has the impact of Sindu Civilization and Sanskrit. It is not that, Tamil/telugu/kanada/malayalam or Hindi every indian language has the impact of Sanskrit.
Due to the mispronunciation, every region got its own language (Basics are derived from Sanskrit only).
People forget the basics and will be so Hippocrates even to say that "My Language is older than SANSKRIT"
If the young generation of India is thinking the same, we may here such comments....................
