The efforts for trying to understand the body languagge and the keen interest shown by the viewers is good enough for me as a psychologist to give my opinion on this.
The body gestures and postures and the signs as well as some basic expressions are similar universally but complex messages are differing from region to region which has to be considered and if you try to follow the signs and gestures as given in the pictures which represents the general message but for our indian context the body gestures are differing according to various cultural backgrounds. So it will be nice to keep this in mind while you try to interpret one's non verbal language or get some better regional knowledge on gestures and sign language before starting to interpret the non verbal communication.
I can also tell you for your kind information we conduct " understanding body language specificaly for HR professionals" in chennai in the forecoming Aug 19th 2007.
