Very nice PPT. Keep posting.

A question I have in my mind, which we are facing in our organization is as follows: The two female employees are quite open in their dress code, but when they are communicating face to face with male employees, then during the conversation, they start covering themselves by hand, folder, or paper. Sometimes, it becomes very insulting for the male person. Many times, some males complain that they don't want to speak with those ladies. Sometimes, they say, "I am going to speak with her and see, she will start covering herself."

What should be our behavior in this situation?

Thanks,

Hello Nadeem,

Dress Code Policy

The company maintains a business casual working environment. All employees should use discretion in wearing attire that is appropriate for the office and customer interaction. During normal business hours, employees are required to be appropriately dressed and groomed. Appropriate dress and neat grooming help to create a professional environment that is customer-friendly and will enhance the effective operation of the company. The appropriate dress code is the generally accepted office dress code that's an accepted practice in the industry and other similar office environments. Exceptions to this are allowed on special occasions – holidays, special personal days for employees, and festivals.

Thanks,
Ajitha

Dear Giridhar,

It's best to talk to female employees and check with them if they have ever felt insecure with any of the male colleagues at work.

During college days, our super seniors used to call the girls in my class and in the name of ragging used to literally torture them by their looks. I can tell you - they never used to look at a girl on her face and talk, but look elsewhere and talk (you know what I mean).

So, as a method to stop them from doing this dirty thing - whenever we used to cross these guys, we intentionally kept a bunch of folders/books with us and distributed them to all the girls in the group and covered behind that and walked - we did this in the assembly, we did this in a national seminar, we also did this in front of their HOD's - that was it! Those guys were not there anywhere around us after that :-). Most importantly - when we saw them coming from far, we used to make it very obvious that all of us were getting conscious and covered ourselves completely with our dupatta.

So please note that girls do it to make it look like a conscious effort to protect them from such creatures who literally have it written on their face!

"I would request you to find out from the girls if they ever felt there was a problem. If they don't seem to have any problem - then you need to tell them that everyone feels that they are looked down upon as people who don't have manners and even wanted to reassure the girls that they are only having professional motives behind their conversation, and would apologize if they have previously shown/acted in a different manner that has made these girls a little scared/worried."

Talk these things out. It's better.
