Six Sigma is a business management strategy originally developed in MOTOROLA by BILL SMITH (but the principles behind the methodology date back to the 1800s. CARL GAUSS, a German mathematician, published "Theoria Motus Corporum Arithmeticae." In this book, GAUSS introduced the concept of the bell curve, a shape that can often represent the variation that occurs in a controlled process).
Now, it has widespread application in many sectors. It improves the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization ("Black Belts", "Green Belts", etc., similar to the grading system in Karate) who are experts in these methods.

I am working with an MNC, a follower of Six Sigma and Lean management. In India, we are a sales organization. Although I am a management graduate and know about Six Sigma earlier, it was very difficult for me to understand 6S in the perspective of a sales organization. But after reading your handbook, it is now very clear to me as all the processes we are following in our company are similar to the examples you provided.
