Hi Nithya,
It is a good one. In fact, every one of us will have the same state of mind that others are the best. Very good one.

Ashok, if you have fewer expectations in life, you will be happiest. I am happy just because I do not have any expectations and dreams. That can sometimes be a negative trait, but I am very happy in my life.

That really is a good one...
I've seen and experienced that most people end up in a job very different from their educational background. I have observed that at times these people turn out to be very good at whatever they do.
I myself am an example in this case. I am a graduate in Chemistry with a Management degree in Marketing. I had a flair for IT and ended up as an SAP Consultant but couldn't enjoy being a consultant for too long. Today, I am working as Head of HR in a Hospital. My knowledge of IT has helped me attend to the MIS needs of my institution, my exposure to Science has enabled me to understand what my colleagues mention in their medical profession, and my management know-how enables me to understand the business needs of my management. So, now my superiors feel I am good at what I am doing, and I am happy about it.
I've seen various such examples in my institution. Basically, these people excel in what they are doing, and the output turns out to be really good.

Hi Nithya,
I agree with this view. I am an Arts graduate. After my graduation, I joined the garment industry in the sewing section as an executive. I was not interested there, so I left that company and learned computers. Later, in another organization in the same industry, I started as a computer operator. I was promoted to EDP Executive and received training in hardware and networking from an institute. I received a better offer from another company as an EDP Incharge. After gaining four years of experience there, I moved to another company, but it turned out to be a big mistake. I left the job after just four months due to a bad work environment. I was unemployed for some time and then joined my cousin's consulting business. There, I managed payroll, Sales Tax, other taxation, and compliances. Subsequently, I landed a job in a good IT company as a Manager in Admin/HR. Currently, I am also pursuing an MBA through correspondence.
My technical skills now enable me to recruit technical candidates. My hardware and networking knowledge helps in recruiting system administrators and network engineers. Additionally, my knowledge of taxation and accounts aids in recruiting accountants. I oversee all administrative and HR activities.

This was a good one, Nithya. It was really motivational. I truly agree with this. I am a firm believer in this thought. And more so because I am able to relate to it. I never wanted to be in the course I am in, but now since I am in it, I decided to give my best. Just because it wasn't my choice but my parents', doesn't mean my performance has to degrade. Maybe your fate isn't your choice, but your performance always is. It is the attitude that matters and reflects in whatever you do. I understand it more today after reading this story. So, thanks a ton for sharing it.
Regards.
