Dear All,
One of my friends and a member of this site, K. Ravi, cannot log in from his ID because it has been banned by moderators. He received many warnings from the site for his replies to other people. Sometimes, he used harsh words in response to illogical posts, but many times he shared valuable knowledge with us.
Do you think it is fair that he cannot access his login in the future? Should his ID be banned for one mistake? I would appreciate your suggestions on this. Please reply.
Thanks,
Suman

Hi,
I agree that sometimes K Ravi used some wrong words, but one should also keep in mind that he has done some illogical posts. We should not forget about the value he has added and the good knowledge he has shared with all of us. It always feels bad if someone around you is not available for this reason.
I think that he should be given one more chance (if they want) with a warning.
Regards,
Sanjay

Dear Members / Moderators,
The idea of banning an ID is to stop the person from posting in the future at all. For instance, if I am banned, I could still use another account and post comments.
What I think would be good is - if the post/comment is really not relevant and can create disagreement, then how about an option to fade that post itself? i.e., to remove that comment alone. If the moderator receives more than 5 report abuses, then it can be considered for deletion. Is this possible?
Coming back to Ravi - well, I never deny that sometimes the comments are crossing the lines, but I guess it makes the debate really interesting and helps people add more clarity. I am sure all of us miss him.... I do miss his views!!

I have also worked as a Moderator for Wikipedia. It's the duty of a moderator to take actions that are in favor of maintaining order on the platform.
As I have seen in this post, Asha Ji mentioned that Mr. Ravi has provided some valuable suggestions and inputs to Cite-HR. She suggests that he should be allowed with a warning. However, Mr. Ravi and Suman Ji, remember that all your good work can be spoiled by one bad deed. This phenomenon is known as the Spillover Effect, which is natural. Strive to be perfect and approach every task as if it were the final one. Life seldom offers second chances.
A request to everyone: This is a professional forum, so please maintain its dignity.

I 100% agree with the view of Mr. Akhilesh Dubey.
So all of you, I request, please use this site in a professional manner. Furthermore, I request that if you have any openings in your department, please post them on this forum so that our juniors/colleagues can have the chance.
Thank you.

Hi Shikha,
The person is realizing his mistake in what he wrote in the posts. Sometimes on this site, people share personal problems in the thread, and others may cross the line with their comments. I believe he should be given a chance to show that he will not repeat the mistake in the future.
Thanks,
Sumna

In my view, the banned member has to realize his mistake. He can create a new account and continue to be a valuable contributor, respecting the rules, terms, and conditions set by the admin team.

Though all of us have had conflicts with Ravi, he is one among our friends in the cite-hr family. I feel that a warning would have been a better step instead of blocking his ID. Blocking him seems like an insult, and I wonder how long it would take for him to create another ID if he truly had bad intentions. Please consider this.
I kindly request the cite-hr moderators to give him a chance and unblock his ID. We would be delighted to have him among us. Thank you.

Hmm... if Ravi were still on the forum and this was someone else's problem, he would have replied saying, "Good that the moderators did it. You HR people deserve it. I don't know what you people think of yourselves. Better all of you must be banned." :D
Sumna, please write an email/private message to the moderators and tell them your view. Just once, put yourself in the moderators' shoes and see the situation. They've done it out of responsibility.
This is just my opinion. No offense meant.
