Thanks, friends. We have received more than one salary slip now, so we have a fair idea of that. However, I wanted to know if HRA and other components depend on the basic pay and how they are related.

Hello!
Usually, the bifurcations are done in the following manner:
Basic Salary: 40% of Gross salary (maximum limit is 40% of Gross Salary)
House Rent Allowance: 20% of Gross salary (must be 50% of basic salary)
City Compensatory Allowance: 20% of Gross salary
Conveyance Allowance: 10% of Gross salary
Medical Allowance: 5% of Gross salary
Other Allowances: 5% of Gross salary
Total: 100%
Exemption for Income Tax:
HRA
Conveyance
In case your company prefers medical reimbursements instead of medical allowances, medical reimbursements up to Rs. 12,500 are non-taxable only against the submission of bills.
Hope this is what you are looking for and it will help you to clear the doubt.

Can anyone post a salary slip where the working days are 30 but paid days are 25 (employee is absent for 5 days)? How can I show the deductions? Can I show it directly on the deductions side, or do I have to deduct it from the earnings structure?
Please help.
Thank you.

All the payslips are helpful, but I stay in South Africa, and we don't subtract all the taxes and stuff like you do. Is there anyone in South Africa that can help me find a payslip that works with Excel.

Hi,
The HRA and Basic pay are connected for HRA computation as explained below:
For example, if your basic pay is Rs. 6000, HRA is Rs. 3000, and monthly rent paid by you is Rs. 2500. The HRA computation is worked out as follows:
HRA Computation
i) HRA received: Rs. 36,000
ii) Rent paid (Rs. 2500 * 12): Rs. 30,000
iii) Rent paid (Less 1/10 of salary): Rs. 7,200
--------------------------------
Total: Rs. 22,800
iv) 2/5 of salary: Rs. 28,800
Least of (i), (ii), (iii) is exempt: Rs. 22,800

Hi friends, this is Manisha. The information I saw is very helpful to me, but let me know some details.
I would like to know what the deduction method of P.T for different salary structures is. Is P.F. 12% for all organizations, or does it depend? May I know if it will start from 12%?

Dear Friends,
It is nice to see the payslips in various formats. However, in some payslips, there is no deduction of PT. Moreover, the rate of PT varies from state to state. Additionally, there is no DA in the payslip, which I believe is very much necessary as per labor rules. Furthermore, the PF deduction by the employer might be restricted to a maximum of 6500, so the calculations have to be changed.
Cheers,
Jeeva

Can anyone let me know whether Basic, DA, and HRA are supposed to have a percentage in the full pay?
Most of the time, I noticed Basic to be 40%, DA to be 10%, and HRA to be 20% of the basic pay. Is that according to industry standards or not?
I want a quick response. Please help out.

(Fact Checked)-The Housing Rent Allowance (HRA) and other components of a salary are often linked to the basic pay. Different organizations may have varying formulas for calculating these components. It's essential to refer to your company's policies or the employment contract for specific details. (1 Acknowledge point)

Dear Friends,
I have doubts about the payslip. Please share with me. Our company is a maintenance service provider having many clients in India. We are paying our employees as follows (for example, Technicians):
1) Basic - 5000
2) HRA - 50% (of Basic)
3) Conveyance - 800.00
4) Performance reward
According to one of our clients, we should not mention other allowances in our payslip. So, the performance reward amount increases if they work overtime. Is there any issue with the amount in the Performance Reward? Please suggest. Similarly, we should consider the Technicians who are earning between 8k to 9k.
