Dear Seniors,
This is Rupa from Delhi. I have 3 years of experience in HR, recruitment, induction, appraisals, and other activities related to HR. My total experience is in the IT industry. However, due to the current market scenario, I had to lose my job. For the past two months, I have been desperately looking for a job but have not been able to find one. I am also interested in doing freelancing work or working from home. If anybody can help me out in this matter, I would be very thankful.
Seniors, please assist me in finding a job or freelancing work.
Thank you,
Rupa

Even without recession, times were tough for all. When things get tough, the tough get going. Life is not an easy cake; you have to work hard during hard times and face a lot of ups and downs in life, baby.

Hi Rupa,
In the HR field, jobs are a significant challenge, especially in the Indian scenario where management does not believe that HR is truly necessary. They often perceive HR as being solely responsible for recruitment and salaries.
Given your current experience, primarily focused on recruitment and induction, there may be limited opportunities available to you in the market. Additionally, your experience is predominantly within the IT sector, which may not hold as much weight in the manufacturing sector due to the differing working conditions.
I recommend that you consider approaching recruitment consultancies. This move could potentially open up both full-time job opportunities and freelance roles for you. By exploring recruitment opportunities within the manufacturing industry, you may increase your chances of securing a position in a manufacturing company in the future.

Yes, HR is only about recruitment, salaries, and other things because till now I haven't seen any company practicing REAL HR.
All my friends working in MNCs and other big companies always complain about workload and are working a minimum of 10-12 hours a day.
What are those HRs of CMM Level Companies doing? While discussing with Department Heads and planning, can't they plan an 8-hour fixed schedule? Like every school leaves at a sharp time, every college closes at a fixed time, why don't these offices close at a fixed time?
All the fresh graduates and postgraduates are working and earning handsome salaries but on their faces and while chatting with them, I hear one word: WORKLOAD. Such a thing I never heard from my father or the previous generation, and during their time, they never had an HR department yet were happy with their jobs.
Because of these reasons, sometimes I feel there is more HR in Government Organizations than in Private, but even in Government, workload has increased now.
So tell me, where exactly is YOUR HR? Don't give blunt, copy-pasted replies. In INDIA, there is not a proper way to manage the HR dept; one gets in HR and the rest of the company is filled with their friends and relatives. Misuse of power by HR is always done, like a banana in a monkey's hand. What is your HR doing apart from recruitments, salaries? Did you ever think employees need to go at the correct time? What the hell do you think of employees, as slaves?

Dear All,
Thanks to all for your valuable suggestions. One thing I would like to make clear is that I am not only handling recruitment and induction, but also managing the leave management system, the appraisal process (from sending forms to the final steps such as promotions and increments), conducting exit interviews, addressing employee grievances, organizing engagement activities to boost employee morale such as picnics, movies, birthday celebrations, and bi-weekly gossip sessions. I am also planning to conduct an employee satisfaction survey. Additionally, I send motivational quotes to all employees every morning.
Please suggest what else I can do.
Thanks,
Rupa

Hi all,
Good to see all your replies. Everyone is saying to Rupa that she has less experience and her profile does not count. Here, I don't understand on what basis you have decided that her profile doesn't count.
This is what Rupa wrote: "HR, recruitment, induction, appraisals, and other activities related to HR."
She has clearly mentioned "OTHER ACTIVITIES RELATED TO HR." We don't know what those are. Hopefully, those activities will be more than what we are currently handling.
I request everyone not to degrade anyone's profile without knowing the full details.

Sorry for spamming here, but it's important.
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this thread, and I'm in deep trouble. Please, all the HR professionals, advise me. I'm a mechanical engineer and worked for 2 years as a maintenance and production engineer. Now, I have completed an MBA in HR and got a job with a reputed company. But problems start here. The company has told me to undergo a medical test, following which they would provide me with an offer letter.
Actually, I have color blindness. Will this hinder my chances of getting a job in that company? Because I'm joining in HR, if this is the case, then I will not get any job due to my color blindness.
Please, HR people, advise me.
Thank you,
Raj
