Hi All,

The subject of EXIT INTERVIEW is well dealt with. I'd like other members to also give their opinion on the REAL value of such interviews for the organization.

Is not an Exit Interview just a ritual? A post-mortem? When employees leave, they often do not bother to give the real reason for leaving. How many of them write about their bosses, but ultimately, they leave. Does a company not know if its pay package is inferior to Company B, where the departing employee has joined?

There could be many other points to highlight. How about a "Stay Interview"? Real feedback about policy shortcomings and issues with boss treatment may come to light if the true purpose of such interviews is emphasized to everyone. Let's have a healthy debate.

To my mind, an exit interview is a complete waste of everyone's time. The company isn't going to change because somebody says they don't like it. The interviewee isn't going to tell the truth because he needs a reference and still has friends working there.
