Dear All,

I have been noticing that many members in the forum are feeling confused and unclear about how to enter the world of Training and Development. With approximately 14 years of experience in this field, I began my career as a young trainer with no prior experience. Today, I have made significant progress in the realms of HR, Training, Coaching, Mentoring, Competency, and Assessment.

I am eager to serve as a Coach and Mentor to all the aspiring individuals who wish to venture into the fascinating realm of Training and Development. If you are genuinely committed, I am prepared to provide guidance and support.

Feel free to share your questions here or send me a private message.

Regards,
Raaj

Thanks, Raj, for your interest in the team. Well, my name is Jagadish, and I just completed my MBA (HR) and am currently working as an IT Recruiter in a software company. I've always had a doubt whether MBA (HR) graduates only have the option of recruitment or if there are other fields they can enter as well. Initially, I tried in many companies, but there were no openings for HR. I understand that companies may not need a fresh HR graduate. However, my concern is how long we have to remain in recruitment.

Please suggest to me what my future options in the corporate world could be.

Dear Mr. Raaj,

Hi Raj,

Since there are so many of us seeking your help, I think it would be nice if you started from scratch and taught us how to become successful trainers. I am sure each point of yours would be a valuable gem for all of us. We could use the same site so that even others who log in at later stages could benefit from it.

Hi Raj,

It's very kind of you to have initiated help for upcoming trainers like me. I have been working as an HR and Process trainer for 1.5 years and have completed my MBA in HR. Additionally, I attend various behavioral and personality development sessions, corporate training, and global business etiquette training.

I aspire to become a Corporate Trainer. Could you kindly suggest how I can enhance my skills and learn more?

Thanks,

Thanks to all of you who are showing keen interest here and also to those who have been contacting me and sending me emails and messages regarding the same.

I had proposed the same as Reshma is asking to start from scratch. I had started the Series called Training Series - I, and wanted to continue, but it was sad that people were not receptive to future series and discussions. People here want readymade materials; I have plenty of them, but the idea is "TEACH A MAN TO FISH SO THAT HE GOES FISHING AND DOES NOT BECOME DEPENDENT, AND NEVER STAYS HUNGRY. IF YOU FEED HIM TODAY, HE WOULD BE BACK TOMORROW."

So, I want to teach fishing :)) and not want people to be dependent. I would love to be a coach and mentor to aspiring trainers; that's why I started this post, but I would prefer not to send any required forms/templates. However, I can coach one on how to go about making it. That's the concept of COACHING.

Feel free to email me at (I have created this email for this correspondence).

Hi Raaj,

I really want to thank you for your thought of supporting and helping us juniors in the Training and HR departments. I am a newbie in this field, I can say. I just started coaching. I would like to know how to go about it. I have done courses related to presentation skills and TTT. I am confident in presenting but just confused about how much information I can provide to the trainees in an hour's time.

Next week, I am going to give a presentation on customer service. It's only for an hour. Can you tell me how to go about it? I have a thought of making it more interactive. Can you suggest any role play or a game related to it? It would be of great help. Thank you. "One is always a learner throughout his/her life" - this is what I truly believe. Cheers, buddy.

Hi Raaj,

I think this is a great initiative that you have begun. What you said is absolutely correct about aspiring trainers not being able to get the right direction. I have come across a few people like this myself and have been actively assisting them. Some of them are now on their own with good positions in great organizations.

Professionally, I have a Master Trainer Certification from Canada, which allows me to certify trainers to international standards. The report that I prepare post mentoring is a 14-page document on the trainer profile. There are more than 300 parameters on which a trainer is observed before certification. I really doubt if trainee-trainers have this kind of horizon. Currently, I am in the role of a Training Head for a Multinational organization.

Please let me know if I can be of any help to you or anyone else. I strictly abide by the Training Architecture designed by the Ontario Society of Training and Development (OSTD).

Apart from this, time and again, I get requirements for trainers for various junior, middle, and senior-level programs. This can benefit new trainers to jump-start their careers.

Personally, I feel that being in the training industry, it is extremely important that experienced people should focus on growing the training circle as big as possible; only then can we create a Learning Culture in our society.

Thanks.

Good Raj!

Now for those in Chennai, you can also contact Raj, of course! And in the event you need a close-at-hand senior sounding board... ha... ha, sounds funny. Hum hai na! I am based in Chennai. I can be of help to the budding trainers in and around Chennai!

I am very committed to training. The reach and impact of soft skills training are unbelievable. Society at large, and this trickles down to the family level, is really perplexed about the fast pace on the professional front and values handed over through generations. And as we trainers know, it is one's values that drive one into behaving the way one does. If I may say so, soft skills trainers can help integrate values.

So there you are, young trainers, reach out to your seniors or colleagues and have a meaningful and enjoyable journey!

Dear Raaj,

We would like to bring it to your kind notice that our organization, Salahkaar Consultants, is into different HR consulting services, viz. Training, HR Advisory, Recruitment, Psychological Testing, and Executive Education Program for HR professionals.

Let me list out some of the uncommon strengths that take Salahkaar Consultants way ahead of most other HRO service providers in the region.

Our open house training programs receive overseas nominations, a proof of quality here. Consultants and trainers from overseas come to our offices for personal tuition to sharpen their skills. Another example is an open house workshop in Singapore, which, despite being open to all, was a big hit in a foreign location.

Faculties and Consultants: Our faculty has defined the term HR in MBA course textbooks. We have faculties who are Cambridge graduates, CEOs, or HR Heads of leading corporations.

Salahkaar Consultants offers a Wide Variety of In-house Training Programs for Organizational Excellence. These are excellent quality solutions at affordable investments. Solutions are well researched and tested by a large network of our consultants and trainers for implementation under real-time business conditions. We take utmost care to provide high-quality service, and therefore, you can look forward to a long-term mutually beneficial relationship.

If your interest matches ours, please write back to us at sharwari@salahkaarconsultants.com. Please do not reply here.

My case is almost a reverse of Bindiya's.

I am experienced in several levels and types of training. Over the last year and a half, I have had tremendous soul-satisfaction from a less lucrative sub-market - the PVT COLLEGES SECTOR - as a 41-year-old blissful bachelor catering to younger audiences. Then, recently, I have abruptly relocated from Delhi to Kolkata.

In my attempt to relaunch my freelance career in a drier market, I would like to position myself in the mean as adjunct faculty for Soft Skills, OB, etc., with several B-Schools. Bindya and Raaj, your considered inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I have testimonials from that sector, but the total exposure was minimal, and those were non-A-Grade colleges. In Kolkata, you either go for government or Kolkata University colleges (a no-no for me) or approach elite ones like Amity, ISB, United World, Globsyn, and ICFAI-IBS.

I have done unusual, atypical stuff in my college programs, unmonitored, and they've worked. Students are still in touch - through long-distance calls and email. So, what's the right way for me to go about it?
