Self Introduction - means when you join a new company for eg. you introduce yourself to ppl around, in a partie you self introduce to ppl around
tell about yourself- means u detail ppl about ur occupation, ur interests, ur qualifications etc.,
Self introduction activity comes from urself, tell about urself cld b a question,

"Self Introduction" is more general in nature when compared to "Tell me something about yourself". "Self Introduction" may happen at any given point of time at a social level but "Tell me about yourself" is job specific. The answer demands something to be told keeping in mind the requirements of the job.

1. Self fintroduction is nothing but you volunteer yourself and state about you without any destination.
2. "Tell about You" means some one is directing you to tell about you to that particular person.
3. In the first case, the other party need not wait patiently to listen your narrations.
4. In the second case, the opponent has to listen patiently your narrations since he has asked a question about you.
In both the case, do not boost your potentialities. Especially in interview, exageration may cause you to land in trouble after appointment
