If a probationary appointment is for a period of three months, stating that the employee will be confirmed in the company on successful completion of the probation period, can the employee be issued a letter confirming the employee on completion of two and a half months of the probation period? For example, probationary period 01-01-2023 to 31-03-2023 but confirmed in service on 15-03-2023. I would like some views on this.

Hi, It is a matter of another 15 days. What is the purpose of early confirmation? Anyways, there is nothing wrong with this. Before confirming, update the employee and then issue a confirmation letter mentioning the effective date. Is it due to speculation that the employee is likely to resign without notice, and early confirmation is to lock him?

Three months is the period of probation, and the employer, within its right, can confirm an employee before the completion of the probation period. This may be due to the employer's apprehension that the employee may leave the organization without giving notice, as stated by Mr. VML R R Kapoor from Vadodara.
