1. I submitted my resignation one month ago. I have a notice period of 60 days, but I want to serve only 30 days. I have a leave balance of 50 days. Please suggest to me.

2. In this notice period, if I join another company, what will happen?

1. You can request to adjust one month's leave against the remaining notice period. However, it is entirely up to the management to accept or reject it. If the request is rejected, equivalent salary for the accrued leave is to be given.

2. Joining another company while still employed is considered double employment, which is illegal and improper. Many individuals in this forum seek advice on issues related to overlapping employment, even if it is just for a day, as it can lead to problems during background verification years later.

If you join a new company before the notice period of the previous company is over, it will result in dual employment, which is legally not right. It is better to request an extension to join from the new company or request early relieving by payment of salary in lieu of the notice period from the last company.
