Dear All,

I would like to know briefly about SAP HR training. Is it really required for HR or a value addition for the HR department? Kindly explain and guide me to the right place to train in SAP for HR. I receive numerous calls for SAP HR training and placement, and I would like to distinguish the genuine ones.

I am from Chennai; kindly guide me, seniors, and provide information on the actual course fees.

Dear Mr. Amal,

SAP is an integrated software that provides outputs from different departments based on the data input into the software, primarily through its reporting system. It helps to avoid repetition of the same work by different individuals or departments.

I would suggest that you first take a course related to the core activities of HR, such as Human Resource Planning, Recruitment, Training, Employee Benefits & Compensation, PF-ESI, Payroll, Taxation, and Leave, among others. While all these fields are extensive in the current landscape, in large organizations, different HR personnel are responsible for various tasks. You can grasp the essential aspects of each of the aforementioned areas and then decide on a specialization.

SAP is simply a tool that streamlines processes, particularly in high-volume work environments. Completing a SAP course may enhance your prospects in organizations that utilize SAP, but it is crucial to have foundational knowledge beforehand.

Furthermore, nowadays, there are numerous HR software options available in the market. Many companies customize their software to align with their specific needs and preferences.

I hope this guidance assists you in making informed decisions.

SAP will become obsolete in another year or so with the emergence of new cloud-based ERPs like SuccessFactors. Your SAP expertise today will be outdated tomorrow, and you will have to learn new ERP systems. Companies also keep on migrating to newer ERPs after a few years. Hence, it's better to get trained in future skills required to excel in HR roles like AI, VBA macros, automation, Lean Six Sigma, and data analytics.
