Is there any internship payslip format that I can use to give to the interns? If not, is it still okay to divide the salary into Basic, HRA, and other components to show to the interns? Or is it recommended to ask them to raise an invoice?

I think this is a casual/not mandatory 'internship' in an engineering or other firms, not like the 'internship' for doctors and lawyers, etc., who are required to undergo an internship to qualify for their respective degrees.

Generally, it is understood that 'interns' are only trainees, and they are supposed to stop once the 'internship period' is over. There can be either paid or free (honorary) internships. A paid internship can be called a 'stipend,' not a 'salary' per se. The stipend can be a consolidated one without being broken down into basic, DA, HRA, etc., which are meant for regular employees. At best, they can be provided with additional stipend 'fare' or 'conveyance reimbursement.' No detailed formatting may be necessary if you wish to issue a 'pay slip' to them. There is no need for any 'invoicing' either.

Interns are paid stipend and not salary so no question arises for issue of payslips preparation of breakup. You can pay their stipend and take acknowledgement on the copy.
