Hi all,

I am new to citeHR. Can anyone help me on how to demonstrate the company core values (Honesty, Fairness, Responsibility, and Respect) to the employees through activities? I am working in an IT startup. We are introducing the company core values for the first time to all employees.

Dear Savita,

Unless one adapts, one can't demonstrate. It requires internalization of core values, which can only be done through a long-driven multi-directional approach - both inside out and outside-in.

1) Awareness about core values through artifacts, posters, social media, and interaction sessions.
2) Guidebook - what are indicators of core values - How one can demonstrate.
3) Put a system to recognize values where anyone can recognize anyone for the demonstration of value.
4) Rewards for a person with remarkable demonstration.
5) Continue the awareness and education.
6) Continue to recognize.
7) Help employees to condition the desired behavior through positive reinforcement (recognition, reward-linking through the performance management system, etc.).
8) Company policy on core value - with zero tolerance on violation, contradictory behavior.
9) After the socialization/internalization at an appropriate time, launch a policy of Zero tolerance for violation of core values.
10) Leaders should demonstrate first and always.
11) The core values should be demonstrated while dealing with each of the stakeholders e.g. employees, seniors, colleagues, customers, suppliers, government agencies, neighborhood, etc.
12) Once mature, try to quantify with outcomes.
