Hi Team,

I want to write a legal letter regarding an accused person's record of his previous employment. Can anybody advise on how to frame a letter regarding information about the person?

This person has assaulted someone and escaped from the scene. Now, he works in another company. How can I write a letter to inquire whether he is currently employed or not?

Thanks,
Sathya

Dear Sathya,

Well, gentleman, this is a professional forum, and while seeking advice from the senior professionals, propriety demands orderliness and a structured approach to the post. You have not provided any background information. Please confirm the following:

a) What is the nature of your industry? What is your designation?
b) Is this accused person an employee of your company? Have you done any background check?
c) Why do you want to send the "legal letter"?

Lastly, the quality of your English merits a lot of improvement. Please take care of it.

Thanks,

Dear Sathya,

In addition to Mr. Divakar's suggestion, always reading the Labour Law Reporter will help in this regard and keep you updated about amendments, judgments, and formats.

Oh no, sir, it's not your duty. You are taking law and order into your hands, usually done by the police. It's purely the risk of the previous company to lodge a complaint against the said person. Searching and warranting arrest are not within your purview. For livelihood, anyone should do some job wherever they like. What's your interest in spoiling his career or life? Many family killings and road accidents are compromised by both parties. We don't know what has happened in his previous job.

Concentrate on your job duties; that's enough. The rest of the things regarding society, law, and order departments will be taken care of. OK.
