Hello,

In Travel Allowance, are petrol bills from other states considered? For example, if a person is living in Mumbai but submits petrol bills from Gujarat, can those be considered for reimbursement in Travel Allowance?

Thank you.

If he travels outstation in Gujarat, then the petrol bills can be considered for reimbursement. However, if the person is stationed in Mumbai and travels locally for official purposes, then he cannot claim reimbursement by producing the petrol bills from Gujarat.

Dear Dashang,

This is in addition to what Shashikumar has written. Have you spoken with the employee and asked for an explanation as to why he has submitted a bill from a petrol filling station from Gujarat? What is his take? Has he claimed the complete amount as per the bill, or has he claimed a partial amount?

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
