Dear All,

Good afternoon! I hope you are doing well. I have some queries regarding compliance. I am working with a manufacturing company in Delhi, and I need to create a leave policy and ensure compliance with regulations.

Could you please suggest or share with me the updated policies related to leave, bonuses, etc.? I am looking forward to hearing from you and would appreciate a prompt response.

Thank you all in advance.

Thanks & Regards,
Parnita

Dear Parnita,

Please find attached the Leave Policy (which I received from here). You can use it as a tool to draft your policy according to your requirements and applicable laws.

Additionally, I have outlined some norms that I typically circulate to our contractual personnel at various locations. You are welcome to incorporate these norms into your Leave Policy.

I hope this aligns with your needs. Fellow members, please feel free to provide additional comments to enhance its reliability.

Norms for availing Holidays:

1. However, festivals such as Eid, Christmas Day, Guru Parv, etc., can be adjusted or compensated with the above, taking into account the regional priorities of individuals.
2. Please obtain prior approval from individuals who wish to adjust or compensate any of the above to avoid any confusion in day-to-day activities.
3. If a holiday falls on a day off, no compensatory holiday will be granted.
4. No holidays will be allowed between continuous leaves. The individual must be available either before or after the holiday; otherwise, it will be considered as leave or absence.

Norms for taking Casual-Sick Leave:

1. "A maximum of 2 Casual Leaves can be taken at once. Beyond 2 regular CLs, PLs will be adjusted. If there are no PLs remaining, the same will be deducted."
2. A maximum of 3 Sick Leaves can be taken at once. After that, a Medical Certificate must be provided to the Plant Manager.
3. In one instance, either Casual Leave or Sick Leave can be taken. Beyond the maximum limit, PLs will be adjusted.
4. No weekends or holidays will be allowed between continuous leaves. The individual must be present either before or after the weekend/holiday; otherwise, it will be counted as leave or absence.
5. "All leave must be pre-approved by the subcontracting supervisor/Shift Incharge and finally approved by the Plant Manager."
6. Repetition of leave around holidays and weekends is allowed only with prior approval from the Plant Manager.

Privilege Leave:

Norms/Criteria for Privilege Leave:

1. Generally, individuals must first earn Privilege Leave before utilizing it.
2. After every 20 days worked, 1 PL is earned. Days off, leaves, holidays, etc., are not included in this count.
3. Individuals are entitled to take only the earned PL. However, prior approval from the Supervisor and Plant Manager is required.
4. If an employee utilizes all entitled PL during the middle of the year and resigns before completing the year, the PL entitlement will be valid only up to the service period. Any overpaid PL amount will be deducted from the Full and Final payment.
5. No weekends or holidays will be allowed between continuous PL. The individual must be present either before or after the weekend/holiday; otherwise, it will be counted as PL or absence.

Weekly Off Policy:

Norms for Weekly Off Policy:

1. In general, Weekly Off is granted after working 6 days.
2. If a Weekly Off falls on a holiday, no compensatory Weekly Off will be provided.
3. No Weekly Off will be granted during consecutive leaves, absences, or holidays.
4. To avail the Weekly Off, the individual must be present either before or after the Weekly Off; otherwise, it will be considered as absence or PL.
