Hello,
When I had the discussion regarding salary at the interview time, I was told that "You can now opt out of PF." Even though I was worried and asked about the EPF being mandatory 2-3 times, when I got my salary, there was a deduction of 3600 (EPF from employers + employees side). When I asked for clarification, they said that since it was deducted earlier, it's mandatory. Now, my take-home salary is reduced by 3600. So, the question is: do I need to ask the management to increase my salary as per the discussion or not ask them?

Has it been given in writing that you can opt out? If not, then the case is not valid. Also, unless you have filled the PF forms, they wouldn't have the option to create a PF account. In that case, again, the case becomes void. PF exemption can be considered in a specific scenario. Please refer to the earlier post.
Now that it's deducted, it will continue. It's not a deduction; it's savings. That's the concept behind it.
