The Ministry of Labour and Employment has made 'Aadhaar' mandatory for members and pensioners of the Employees' Pension Scheme. Members and pensioners of the Employees' Pension Scheme desirous of continuing to avail pension and membership to the Employees' Pension Scheme by availing the Central Government's contribution and subsidy under the said Scheme are required to furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication as per the procedure laid down by EPFO. Application for Aadhaar enrollment has to be made by 31.1.2017. Till the Aadhaar number is assigned, benefits can be availed by furnishing Voter ID and a copy of the request made for Aadhaar enrollment.
