Management is asking me to prepare termination policy - reason for long absentees without information

Dear Mamatha,
Which industry are you from? In which part of India is your company located? I am asking these questions because, more than a policy on employee termination, you need standing orders as per the regulations of your state. If you obtain approval for the standing orders, you can terminate an employee based on their misconduct.
Even without standing orders, you may conduct a domestic inquiry for each instance of misconduct and proceed with terminating the employee.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar

There are no provisions for a termination policy, but you can adopt a Standing Order if such an order is applicable to your company. Standing orders generally specify terms related to termination that you can follow. In the absence of a standing order, you can follow the model standing order. It is advisable to consult a lawyer and have a standing order drafted as per the requirements of your company.
