I'm a bit confused here since there are many candidates to whom I gave a call and sent interview call letters for the vacancies listed in my company. But right on the day of the interview, when I call them for confirmation about their interview visit, most of them answer "No" and give out some stupid reasons. I just don't know why this happens and what I should do to overcome this situation and make my recruitment run smoother.

I don't know clearly your process so I can't give you the reason why here. Some things you should reconsider:
- Are your candidates active or passive?
- Is your job description clear and attractive enough?
- How do you call/email them for confirmation? You should get confirmation a day before the day of the interview.
- Is your company/ employer brand is strong?
- How about candidate experience?
Hope this helps.

As a recruiter, you need to understand how the employment market is trending. In a seller's market, the seller lays down the rules, and the buyer has to accept what the seller offers and at the price he quotes. However, the current employment market seems to give a little leverage to customers (employees) as well because they have choices due to the emergence of many small and medium-sized enterprises and startups. They can choose to join organizations that align with their preferences. Therefore, you need to inquire about what candidates are looking for in a job to assess their fit and determine if they are likely to respond to an interview call.
