I would like to know which one is better for correspondence between Symbiosis and ICFAI. Additionally, I am interested in understanding the fee structure, admission dates/procedures, and other relevant information for both institutes.

Hello, I am a PGDBA student of Symbiosis correspondence course. I have read your question, and I want to know one thing – why are you not satisfied with Symbiosis? I think you have very little knowledge about it. The study method is easy to understand, and besides, you can join any kind of job that is better for you. Well, tell me why you are not satisfied. I will wait for your reply.

Hi Annapurna,
I don't know much about ICFAI, but I can tell you about Symbiosis as I'm from the 2005 batch. The fees are 20,000 for two years, and exam fees are extra. You have to send the amount through DD first of 8000 and after a few months of 12000. The examination fees should be sent as and when you appear for the exam, i.e., in Jun-Jul and Dec-Jan.
In Symbiosis exams, there is no negative marking, but in ICFAI, there is negative marking, and the fee structure is higher compared to Symbiosis. For admission in Symbiosis, you can apply in Apr-Jun when the forms are available. They also issue forms in Nov, but I am not sure if they are issuing forms this year. You can purchase these forms from UTI bank for approximately Rs. 750 and send a DD of 1000 along with the form. After that, you will receive your SCDL registration number, and then you have to send an 8000 DD.
For any other queries, you can visit www.scdl.net. If I know the answer, I will surely help you.

Hello Pooja,
How do I appear for the exams? Do we need to go to Pune to appear for the exams, or does Symbi have exam centers in different cities? Is there an option to take exams online?
Looking forward to your response.

Dear Suzuki,
This is in reference to the MBA program at ICFAI.
Following are the advantages of ICFAI MBA:
1) The certificate you will receive will state that you have completed your MBA from ICFAI University without mentioning that it was done through correspondence or distance learning, similar to what a regular program student would receive.
2) Classes for each subject are scheduled for 36 sessions of 1 hour and 15 minutes each, totaling 45 hours, which are optional.
3) Additional learning materials such as magazines and journals play a crucial role in updating knowledge, which ICFAI provides monthly.
4) All students are provided with online web support to address any queries.
5) You will receive study materials (textbooks, workbooks, self-guides, etc.) at your mailing address, and it is the same curriculum as that of regular program students.
6) Upon completing the first three groups, you will obtain a Diploma in Business Management (DBM), followed by an Advanced Diploma in Business Management (ADM) after the next four groups, and ultimately a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. The certificates will be equivalent to those received by regular program students at ICFAI.
7) A 100% placement guarantee under SPS ensures a minimum annual remuneration of 2.52 lakhs for freshers, with existing employees receiving a 30-40% salary increase.
8) You can pursue this course from any part of the world.
9) You can seek assistance from regular students through a peer mentorship program and communicate with the regular faculty at IBS Pune.
10) You will have access to the campus library facilities.
11) The minimum duration to complete the course is 15 to 18 months.
12) Case Study Support includes receiving Case Folios for practical implementation of subjects.
13) A wide range of electives are available.
14) There are 250 test centers located across India.

Hi Sumit,
I see your email whenever there is a mention of MBA and also you provide details of ICFAI in detail. Great. However, there is no mention of the course fees anywhere. I have heard high praise for ICFAI, but I am curious about the fees. Can you shed some light on that so that aspirants can know what to expect?
Regards. No offense meant. :)

Hi Pooja ji,
Thank you for the information on Symbiosis which I was scouting for. I've been trying to find the information on the net but unable to. Also, I am not able to reach them on the phone. You have provided a lot of details, and I am sure it will be helpful to me and others. I am planning to do an MBA-2yr through Distance Learning since I work full-time in Chennai. Are there exam centers in Chennai as well? Please let me know.
Thanks and regards. :)
